The Manager - Cabin Interiors Engineering oversees a team of direct employees, co-op students and contractors responsible for the development, design, and production of repair, modification, and inspection documentation in support of Delta's worldwide cabin maintenance activities. The successful candidate will:

  • Assist and provide guidance in the development and analysis for aircraft interior damage, repair, and reliability
  • Support aircraft modifications and upgrades requested as part of marketing and leadership initiatives
  • Evaluate and interpret AD, FAA, and Delta policy requirements to ensure compliance in all engineering documentation
  • Aid in analyzing and correcting problems which hamper the maintenance support activities of the department
  • Develop, implement and continuously monitor and enhance Cabin Maintenance programs
  • Practice safety-conscious behaviors in all operational processes and procedures

What you need to succeed (minimum qualifications)

  • This position works closely with managers, leads, PLM's, technicians, and engineers of Cabin and Line Maintenance, in addition to internal and external customers to maintain compliance with applicable FAA, DOT, ICAO, FDA, OSHA regulations and Delta's Technical Operations Policy and Procedures (TOPP) pertaining to the development of equipment alterations/repairs.
  • Requires understanding of STC and ODA processes.
  • Applicants must be able to interact with various departments and external suppliers and agencies at all levels and negotiate solutions that are acceptable to each organization.
  • Applicants must have excellent problem-solving and communication skills, the ability to build strategic & tactical action plans, and the ability to handle sensitive issues with appropriate discretion.
  • Where permitted by applicable law, must have received or be willing to receive the COVID-19 vaccine by date of hire to be considered for U.S.-based job, if not currently employed by Delta Air Lines, Inc.

What will give you a competitive edge (preferred qualifications)

  • Bachelor's degree in Aerospace or Mechanical Engineering or equivalent is preferred
  • Previous airline, military, OEM or MRO experience with commercial aircraft is preferred
