The Operations Decision Science (ODS) team at Delta provides decision support across all major operations divisions using advanced analytics including machine learning and optimization. ODS is seeking a manager who will lead model and product development in Predictive Modeling to ensure operations decisions are supported with a high level of analytical rigor. This position will both hands-on model building and leading a team of data scientists to extend and scale the development.
An ideal candidate will have expert knowledge in machine learning, statistical analysis, and data story telling. The candidate should have excellent organizational and communication skills, have solid knowledge in predictive modeling, and feel comfortable in a fast-paced environment. This role will lead 3-4 direct reports. Responsibilities: • Lead a team to deliver advanced analytics solutions for complex business problems • Help implement emerging technologies and identify efficient and meaningful ways to disseminate data and analysis in order to satisfy the business' needs • Mentor junior members in technical proficiency and business acumen • Practices safety-conscious environment resulting in employee safety and well-being What you need to succeed (minimum qualifications)• Experiences in leading data science, predictive modeling, or advanced analytics projects • Bachelor's degree in Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Operations Research, Computer Science, or equivalent combination of education and experience • Proficiency in Machine Learning techniques; 3+ years of proven recent experience building and implementing ML solutions • Proficiency in Python and SQL • Strong written, oral communication, and interpersonal skills; should be able to effectively communicate ideas in executive level decks • Strong project management, organizational, and prioritization skills • Must be able to interact and collaborate at all levels within Operations Analysis & Performance, OCC, cross-divisional working groups, and outside entities What will give you a competitive edge (preferred qualifications)• Master's degree preferred• Experiences in delivering machine learning and advanced analytics solutions• Experiences in develop decision support tools/systems• Experiences in managing data science teams#DICEVacancy expired!
