Above all, we believe that collaboration is the best way forward.Primary ResponsibilitiesPerform innovative designs of the facility and building-related mechanical systems over a variety of markets including Commercial, Federal, Industrial, Science and Technology, Mission Critical, Water/Wastewater facilities, and Healthcare projects.Coordinate and work closely with a multidiscipline design team throughout the entire life cycle of projects from planning stages, through the development of construction documents, and construction administration.Support senior mechanical engineers and the development of drawings, specifications, and related engineering calculations, as well as field inspection, the resolution of RFIs, and the review of shop drawings during construction.This individual should be self-motivated and possess strong leadership skills with a passion to deliver creative, technically excellent design solutions. We will provide access to challenging design work and mentor this person throughout their career.Create detailed designs of HVAC and plumbing systems, including plans and specifications, site layouts, and sizing and selection of equipment.Support the production of technical documents.Perform life cycle cost analyses and process calculations and perform load calculations for air and hydronic system sizing.Support construction phase implementation of infrastructure improvements by providing engineering services during construction.Support design by providing field support as necessary.LI-IK1QualificationsRequiredBachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field; master's preferredEIT required (or demonstrate a plan to take the EIT exam within 6 months of hire)Some travel is requiredStrong communication skills, be self-motivated, organized, flexible, and able to work both independently and with a project team to the completion of tasksAn attitude and commitment to being an active participant in our employee-owned culturePreferredBIM/Revit experiencePreference will be given to local candidatesWhy HDRAt HDR, we know work isn't only about who you work for; it's also about what you do and how you do it.
