Microsoft SQL Server Database Administrator on a 12+ months’ renewable contract opportunity in Atlanta, GA.Position: Microsoft SQL Server Database AdministratorJob Summary:This is a new request for a Database Administrator in the Information Technology Division. The Database Administrator will be responsible for designing and securing computer databases to store, track, and maintain a large volume of critical business information. This position completes activities relating to database management, planning, development, security, and maintenance. Develops database models, definitions, and standards for administering enterprise databases on one or more platforms. Designs and coordinates the implementation of database structures for one or more platforms. May be asked to convert legacy Microsoft Access Databases to SQL Server. Under minimal supervision, the DBA will be part of the IT Technical Team and ensure the IT framework is applied to all active projectsDuties & Responsibilities:Under general supervision, designs and secures computer databases to store, track, and maintain a large volume of critical business information. Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related field from an accredited college or university AND Two years of experience in support of an operating system, database management system or a related field OR Two years of experience at the lower level Database Administrator 1 (ITP030) or position equivalent.Required/Desired Skills:2 Years of experience building, maintaining, securing and backing up MS SQL Server Required2 Years of Proficiency in SQL clustering, mirroring, replication, scripting, stored procedures, functions, performance tuning and trouble shooting Required2 Years of Experience with Analysis Services, Integration Services, or Reporting Services Required2 Years of Experience with Reporting Tools such as Power Bi, SSRS Required2+ years’ experience with Oracle (Preferred) Highly desired2+ years’ experience working in and supporting cloud environments such as AWS and Azure (Preferred) Highly desiredExperience in converting legacy MS Access Databases to SQL Server (Preferred) Highly desiredExperience with Snowflake Highly desiredAbout Vector:Vector Consulting, Inc., (Headquartered in Atlanta) is an IT Talent Acquisition Solutions firm committed to delivering results.
