We welcome candidates who can contribute to the diversity and excellence of our academic community.DescriptionJOB DESCRIPTION:Primary duties are organizing, coordinating, and planning operational facets of a program and its related activities which include, but are not limited to the following: establishing long-term operational objectives, researching factors that may impact the success of the program, and working with individuals or groups to research and document program requirements in order to provide appropriate input into the development of strategic plans.

Develops work plans to accomplish program goals and objectives and monitors progress toward their achievement.

Conducts research and gathers information to develop various publications.

Develops promotional materials which may include content for reports, briefings, newsletters, grants, or other written information related to the program.

Assists in developing and coordinating program-related conferences, conventions, or meetings.

Monitors expenditures and may participate in the budget planning process and prepare financial reports.

May assist in identifying funding resources and developing fund-raising strategies and initiatives.

Prepares operational and statistical reports.

Conducts training, represents the program at meetings and conferences, and networks with affiliated groups.

May supervise assigned project staff, interns, and/or volunteers.

Performs related responsibilities as required.

This is not an administrative support position.

ADDITIONAL JOB DETAILS:Support the DUS, Director of AMST, and undergraduate curriculum program of the ILA (AMST/IDS programs).

Liaison with faculty and instructors regarding course evaluations, final exam schedules, grade entry, etc. as needed

Attend DUS and UGS meetings

Maintain student and academic records of department

Distribute permission numbers, processes overloads, add/drop/swap, student enrollment; special

Participate in academic program planning, including with the DUS to schedule courses and manage enrollment

Manage course schedules and changes through CLSS

Coordinator online course evaluation process

Liaison with Registrar’s Office

Process Declaration of Major for IDS and AMST majors

Entering approved exceptions into Degree Tracker for majors

Maintain and submit Honors list

Assist DUS with preparing for advising and pre-registration

Tracking advisor/advisee assignments and disseminating advising materials and information during key times of the year

Maintain relationships with other departments and related divisions.

Assist ADA with adhering to record retention policies for departmental records, especially regarding those related to the undergraduate program.

Communicate with faculty regarding upcoming deadlines, events of interest, etc.

Communicate important departmental information, deadlines, or requirements to majors; respond to student questions and refer them to campus resources as appropriate.

Maintain departmental LISTSERVs.

Distribute promotional materials as needed.

Support administration and operations of department as needed.

Other duties as assigned.

This position is for a 9 month assignment.

This position provides undergraduate staff support to the department and programs in aspects related to undergraduate education, act with the Directors of Undergraduate Studies (DUS) as a department liaison to the Office of Undergraduate Education (OUE), and serve as a resource to students and faculty on issues related to undergraduate education.

The position is expected to work closely with the chair, DUS, Faculty, and OUE to coordinate the department’s efforts related to major advising, academic degree program administration, curricular changes, and enrollment.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:Bachelor's degree in a field related to the program and two years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:Exceptional software skills (e.g., Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel, Zoom, and Adobe Acrobat).

Knowledge of university environment and systems preferred (specifically experience in Emory College).
