This Engineering position operates within the Test Cell Engineering team under Propulsion Engineering, supporting Delta TechOps' engine test cells in Atlanta and Minneapolis. This position provides engine testing technical support in one or more areas; troubleshooting, performance analysis, trend monitoring, and advanced analytics.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Provide engineering support to troubleshoot engine test arisings
  • Work with engineering team members to provide engine workscope feedback based on engine test results
  • Maintain engine test cell correlations through trend monitoring
  • Develop turbine engine cycle decks from engine test data to facilitate the creation of robust performance analysis tools that can be used to analyze post-overhaul engine testing
  • Develop tools to predict post-overhaul on-wing deterioration by bridging the gap between test cell and on-wing performance

What will give you a competitive edge (preferred qualifications)

  • Bachelor's degree in Aerospace or Mechanical Engineering from an accredited institution or 5 years of relevant experience.
  • 2 years industry experience credited for a Master's degree, in the listed disciplines
  • 3 years industry experience credited for a PHD in the listed disciplines
  • Experience with the repair or design of gas turbine or turbofan engines
  • Experience with aircraft engine testing and gas path analysis
  • Experience with data analytics software packages such as R or Python and/or gas turbine simulation software such as NPSS
  • Previous Airline, OEM or MRO experience with commercial aircraft engines
  • Familiarity with airline flight operations and support systems
  • Six Sigma (GB/BB) concepts
