- Bachelor's degree required
- Senior Data Services Engineer to help migrate Client's on-premise data services into Google Cloud Platform. Technologies in scope are Hana, Hadoop, Redis, Kafka, InfluxDB, Postgres, and Cassandra instances.
- We are looking for candidates who are passionate about designing, building, and maintaining innovative and reliable database infrastructure and to have fun while doing it.
- Designing the architecture for data services technologies in Google Cloud Platform and providing subject matter expertise input into the overall migration plan
- Configuring data replication for the technologies in scope to move the data to Google Cloud Platform.
- Building Terraform and Ansible scripts to build and deploy database infrastructure and instances.
- Analyzing automation, monitoring, and tooling gaps in the Data Services infrastructure and designing and building processes and solutions to address.
- Driving innovation and the adoption of new technologies in the organization to increase operational efficiency, scalability, agility, and continuous improvement feedback loops.
- Building relationships with engineering colleagues and collaborating on application design.
- 5+ years' experience administering high throughput, highly available, transactional database systems covering designing, installation, trouble shooting, and performance and tuning.
- Experience with building infrastructure and services in Google Cloud Platform (Google Cloud Platform) and migration experience from on-premise data centers to Google Cloud Platform.
- Experience with automating infrastructure deployments using Terraform, Ansible, Salt, Jenkins, and Rundeck.
- Willingness to take the initiative to contribute beyond your own responsibilities
- Ability and interest to learn and deploy new technology quickly
- Obsessively detail oriented
- B.S. or higher in Computer Science or other technical discipline
- Demonstrated programming skills in one or more of: Python, Perl, Ruby, Java, C, specifically for infrastructure automation
- Passionate and self-motivated
- Desire to not only maintain but improve existing systems
- Strong focus on efficiency, simplicity and maintainability
