About this role

The mission of the Finance Platform Strategies (FPS) team is to ensure optimized operating models within Finance, consistent across our global functional teams as appropriate. To promote this objective, we connect key Finance resources with relevant functional and technical specialists from across BlackRock and partner to identify and document business requirements, design, and deliver effective solutions, and provide ongoing support and oversight of the Finance ecosystem and our critical processes. Global FPS team members serve as internal change management consultants who apply knowledge of BlackRock's resources - people, process, data, and technology - to ensure concepts become reality in support of both new business initiatives and ongoing business process improvement. Our Finance ecosystem includes Oracle Cloud Financials including Accounting Hub Cloud Service (AHCS) and Financial Close & Consolidation Cloud Service (FCCS), Account Reconciliation Cloud Service (ARCS), Coupa, Concur, Cognos Analytics and TM1, and our proprietary BlackRock Aladdin platform.

Role Responsibility:
  • Support strategic projects to successful completion, whether global or regionally oriented, by interacting with teams whose members can represent a wide range of BlackRock functional groups across regions
  • Understand corporate operating procedures, identify functional gaps and work with Finance leadership to close such gaps
  • Contribute domain expertise to a diverse range of projects
  • Ensure key executives, platform and project partners are kept informed
  • Build consensus in support of business projects through presentation of clear business use case analysis
  • Drive standardization and constantly evaluate systems, processes, and procedures for efficiency opportunities, making recommendations for improvements
  • Explore opportunities to enhance data sourcing, data governance and optimal data storage solutions
  • Partner with key project stakeholders to define project scope and primary objectives based on business outcome expectations
  • Support Finance senior leadership, in region and globally, to help shape platform strategy to support business growth through efficiencies that capture scale opportunities
  • Deliver ongoing end-user training for Finance platforms
Critical Skills and Qualities:
  • Minimum 10 years of Oracle ERP Financials related experience developing and architecting all aspects of ERP solutions using the Cloud Financials suite of products
  • Experienced in configuration of core Cloud ERP Financials modules (GL, AR, FA etc.,), Financial Close & Consolidation Cloud Service (FCCS), Account Reconciliation Cloud Service & Accounting Hub.
  • Understanding of all Finance business processes, including accounting and corporate reporting. Strong analytical skills and ability to think in a complex and rapidly changing environment
  • Clear communicator, written and verbal, able to articulate and present strategic and tactical objectives including underlying business rationale with appropriate audience sensitivity (e.g., project team, internal functional and technical partners, senior management, etc.,)
  • Project management experience covering project inception through execution, implementation and closeout preferred
  • Experience with Oracle PaaS, Oracle Analytics Cloud, BI Publisher, OTBI, SmartView or Cognos Analytics is a plus
  • Partner with key project stakeholders to define project scope and primary objectives based on business outcome expectations
  • Results driven, experienced problem solver with attention to detail
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Cloud Financials Certified implementation professional
  • Corporate Accounting or FP&A experience
