Job Summary:

We are seeking a detail-oriented, proactive Production Assistant with strong management and technical skills to support and optimize our production operations. This role goes beyond basic inventory tasks and plays a key part in aligning production activities with sales, managing materials, and ensuring workflow accuracy. The ideal candidate will be analytical, hands-on, and able to contribute both strategically and technically.

Key Responsibilities:

Inventory Control & Management:

Monitor inventory levels and determine what materials need to be replenished.

Take ownership of locked inventory and ensure secure, accurate tracking.

Analyze usage trends and forecast needs based on production and sales input.

Purchase Orders & Vendor Follow-Up:

Create and manage purchase orders.

Proactively follow up with vendors to ensure timely delivery and resolve any discrepancies.

Coordinate with procurement to maintain cost-effective sourcing.

Production & Sales Coordination:

Facilitate clear communication between sales and production to align on priorities and timelines.

Support planning efforts to meet order deadlines and customer expectations.

Work Orders & Documentation:

Prepare detailed work orders for production staff.

Maintain accurate logs and records of completed and pending tasks.

Ensure documentation is up to date and easy to reference.

Technical Support & Rework:

Apply technical aptitude to assist with product rework or troubleshooting when needed.

Willingness to be hands-on and get involved in solving production challenges.

Ability to build or assist in building wiring harnesses is a strong plus.

Qualifications:

Previous experience in a production or operations support role

Strong understanding of inventory control practices

Experience creating and managing purchase orders

Excellent communication and organizational skills

Ability to analyze and interpret data to support decision-making

Comfortable working in a dynamic, hands-on environment

Technical aptitude; experience with rework and/or light assembly is a plus

Familiarity with wiring harness assembly is desirable

Work Environment:

This role requires working closely with production teams on the floor, as well as coordinating with office-based personnel. A combination of administrative and hands-on work is to be expected.
