Requisition Number: 214880 Reporting to the SVP/Chief Information Security Officer, the Executive Director Cyber Recovery and Customer/Wireless Security Operations, strategically leads Cox Communications (CCI) Cyber Recovery/Disaster Recovery programs and Customer and Wireless Security Operations. You will develop and manage the enterprise Cyber Recovery and Disaster Recovery strategy. This strategy supports our broader corporate business strategy that includes processes, policies, and platforms. You will lead the customer acceptable use function which includes compliance with the Digital Millennium Copyright Act that requires partnerships with multiple stakeholder groups including Technology, Product Management, Legal, Operations, Customer Care, Sales and Marketing, Cox Business, Field Services, Cox Enterprises (CEI) Internal Audit and Risk Management aimed at ensuring that our customers comply with the relevant law and acceptable use of our network. The Director will also lead a team that is required to work with law enforcement on customer related infractions as needed. You will also be responsible for managing customer security related functions of our new wireless business. Essential success factors include the ability to partner, influence and lead both directly and cross-functionally teams throughout the organization. The leader must also successfully communicate risk and obtain buy in related to these functions across the entire CCI organization. Additionally, you will partner with other Cox companies on necessary committees and programs.

You Will:
  • Serve as an advisor and advocate for a culture of security and security best practices related to these functions.
  • Work with cross-functional team comprised of senior information and network security leaders to establish strategic goals for improving the security architecture and risk posture of the company.
  • Establish the strategic Cyber Recovery/Disaster Recovery and Customer and Wireless Security Program and supporting organization.
  • Establish the relevance of these risks to the company and provide strategic vision, guidance, and leadership on resolution of risks.
  • Ensure executives and other senior leaders across CCI understand their role in security risk acceptance for the enterprise and are provided visibility to these risks on a regular basis.
  • Communicate potential cyber recovery/disaster recovery and customer compromise information to executive level stakeholders across various Cox organizations.
  • Partner with external entities including law enforcement and government.
  • Hire, train, motivate, guide, grow and develop direct reports and employees.
  • Ensure a participative/engaged work environment that attracts and retains a workforce of satisfied employees.
  • Educate and negotiate with leadership and management to ensure successful development, deployment, and Return on investment on cyber recovery/disaster recovery solutions.
  • Develop close partnership with other security leaders to foster consistency in execution of security initiatives across all standardized roles, teams and strategies.
  • Analyze and manage capital and expense budgets.
  • Travel up to 20%.

Qualifications:
  • BSc./BA degree required, Masters preferred.
  • Significant security certification such as Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), and a Certified Information Systems Manager (CISM).
  • 12 or more years direct management responsibility overseeing technology, IT or Security teams and professionals in a dynamic, high-growth, fast pace, changing environment. This includes direct and indirect leadership of senior director level technical managers and leaders.
  • Experience developing and executing cyber and information security strategies and missions for large complex organizations.
  • Oversee complex programs, manage, and educate experienced professionals, and manage other departments relating to security risk and control.
  • Proven record of creatively solving problems, and offering solutions.
  • Consultative nature to work through controversial or complex topics to employees, leaders, and/or top management.
  • Ability to manage multiple complex projects while meeting all deadlines and leading teams to achieve optimal results.
  • Develop strong and productive working relationships with important partners and work with other Cox entities security teams to implement security best practices.
  • Experience with corporate security, compliance, and audit programs.
  • Experience working with NIST CSF, ISO 27001/2 or similar information risk and cybersecurity frameworks.
  • Excellent customer service skills, writing and executive presentation skills.
  • Ability to build and foster strong business relationships and provide seamless collaboration across functional and matrix environment.
