Cox Communications is searching for a Senior Video Sustaining Network Engineer who will play a key role in the design and deployment of key video systems within Cox Communications. You will provide tier IV support, technical leadership, and technical direction to team members and peers responsible for the deployment and transition of Cox video networks and the integration/support of IP delivery video products, primarily via RPHY networks. You will also be responsible for providing advanced video systems design, support, service assurance, maintenance, and fix agent support of Cox video systems fed via RPHY networks supporting; Contour 1&2, DTAs, CB Video, IP Video, and Centralized Video Services (CVS).

Primary Responsibilities and Essential Functions: - Responsible to plan/modify/maintain/support Lab Video infrastructure networks- Work with product teams on video platform/architecture initiatives requiring network resources.- Performs network maintenance to include daily back up activities, hardware upgrades, daily system health checks - Provides leadership and mentoring to junior staff members- Responsible for escalated support of video systems and video services- Handles Tier IV escalations from SOC, Mission Control in Customer Care, Field Ops, Customer Advocates team, and Tier III Client Team- Performs systemic diagnosis, correction, and/or escalation preserving the Cox video customer experience- Provides software support to Application Development and Product Deployment teams- Acts as communications liaison to business partners (education and information)- Consults with Cox Engineering, Application Development and Operations Teams- Supports continuous improvement efforts and lifecycle management of video platform- Performs spectrum relocation governance and oversight- Provides Residential, Commercial Business, and Cox Media video design support- Open tickets with vendors for video related issues - Engage vendors, Engineering, and Application Development teams as needed- Leads projects related to the growth, maintenance, or upgrade of RPHY digital video and transition to IP video - Provides virtual support of video systems architecture and software elements- Creates and implements training and MOP documentation - Approves security patches and manages software revision control, inventory systems, drivers, and associated databases- Answers user inquiries regarding video network functions and issues identified- Actively seeks and evaluates opportunities for process improvement - Assists with the maintenance and growth of MTC server technology - Leads the design and R&D of new video products and software in DAA depolyments- Performs pre-release testing for new products and software- Administration of server software, firmware, and security administration

Qualifications:

Minimum:- Where permitted by applicable law, if you receive a conditional job offer of employment for a role subject to our vaccination requirement, will you be able to provide proof of full vaccination against COVID-19 or eligibility for a medical or religious exemption.- In Depth Knowledge TCP/IP (IPv4, IPv6 & Multicast)- 5+ years of experience in managing networks- 5+ years of experience in Cable TV operations and IP Video Experience- Experience with Digital Broadband Distribution- Experience of Video engineering protocols and delivery systems - Experience in the deployment of advanced video networks and products- Experience in RF troubleshooting and MPEG 2 and MPEG 4 protocols- Knowledge of UNIX, LINUX, and Windows operating systems- Knowledge of Internet Protocols, RAID systems, and Systems security- Ability to accommodate a highly flexible and varied work schedule

Preferred:- B.S. in Information Systems, Computer Science, or equivalent work experience - Project management experience- Understanding of Cable Video Systems and video applications over CMTS/RPHY networks- Experience with network protocols, network equipment, and network configuration and troubleshooting- Cisco Training - CCNA, CCNP, CCIE, CMTS
