- DoD 8570 Baseline Certifications: CCNA Security: CySA+ , GICSP, GSEC, Security+ CE, or CND, or SSCP.
- VMWare Certified Professional Network Virtualization VCP-NV.
- BA/BS degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems or similar plus 8 years' experience.
- IAT Level II with at least 8 years in IA technology or related area.
- DoD experience is highly desired.
- Troubleshoot and work with various vendors to resolve issues with infrastructure components (Windows/Citrix/Cisco/HP)
- Contribute to incident reduction initiatives to drive operational overhead to a minimum
- Drive to exit our Museum and End of Life infrastructure to help maximize vendor supportability and the stability of the environment
- Work with customers and stakeholders to understand and clarify business and system requirements, solving complex business problems together
- Design and develop workflows to automate the deployment of applications and infrastructure environments
- Influence broader Engineering group in adopting new Cloud technologies and related processes
- Collaborative interface with customers to understand technology strategy, including new applications being authored, and backlog of enhancements to existing applications
- Application of TCP/IP routing and switching principles to practical solutions
- Knowledge of BGP routing protocol, TCP/IP, UDP and DECnet/OSI and troubleshooting connectivity issues required
- Multi-level troubleshooting and root-cause problem solving
- Understand Local and Wide Area network design and topology
- Installation/configuration of LAN and Wireless hardware and maintenance of wiring closets
- Monitoring with standard network management and packet analysis tools
- Plan, implement and administer perimeter security and firewalling
- Strong verbal and written communication to effectively express concepts, plans, and proposals.
- Strong oral communicator in order to explain technical jargon to non-IT background personnel.
- Extensive understanding of security offerings, such as firewall, web Security, VPN email Security, Access Control, Intrusion Prevention, etc.
- Ability to organize, prioritize and meet deadlines.
- Capable of conveying complex information in a simplistic manner.
- Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
- Strong self-starter requiring minimal supervision.
- Ability to take proactive measures to prevent problems rather than reactive by nature.
- Strong Cisco networking skills preferred to configure routers and switches.
