Job Description

SUMMARY:

Setup and operate screen print presses. Maintain quality parts during the printing process. Maintain production rates, scrap rates and safety standards.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following.

These are functions a qualified incumbent or applicant must be able to perform with or without reasonable accommodation.

· Read and understand production blueprint, job ticket, and scheduling information.

· Verify that information is consistent between specification sheets, procedure sheets, requisitions, color standards, proofs and other sources of information.

· Verify ink and coating, stock and other material staged at the press by crew and support staff is correct.

· Set up, operate screen presses.

· Achieve acceptable color, fit, registration and position in the least amount of sheets possible.

· Document material usage and time.

· Inspect and maintain required quality level of parts, stopping production if necessary to maintain high quality levels.

· Troubleshoot press problems.

· Complete paperwork required and complete Quality Assurance sign off.

· Monitor and adjusts ink color to ensure consistency throughout entire press run.

· Able to make screens and pull required materials.

· Perform preventative maintenance according to schedule and maintain equipment.

· Maintain good housekeeping around the press. Assist in the general cleaning or work station and surrounding area.

· Stage printed material for next department or process.

· Follow all department work instructions.

· Ensure compliance with company safety rules and policies.

OTHER (Non-Essential) FUNCTIONS:

Includes functions, which are normally performed by persons holding this title. However, these functions may be assigned to other employees as part of a “Reasonable Accommodation” under the ADA.

· Provide support to all areas of Print Production including, but not limited, to reclaiming screens and running digital printing presses.

· Crosstrain in various production areas to assist as needed.

· Performs other duties as assigned.

SAFETY REQUIREMENTS:

Required and responsible for employee safety, attending safety training, complying with all company safety and work policies and reporting all accidents/injuries immediately to their Manager and HR Department.

QUALIFICATIONS:

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

The minimum education required for this position is a high school diploma or general education degree (GED); or three to five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Position requires past experience with screen presses.

LANGUAGE SKILLS:

The minimum related language skills required for this position is the ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:

This position requires an ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

REASONING ABILITY

This position requires an ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:

This position may require a driver’s license.

OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

Computer skills to include experience working knowledge of Windows, Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, any Web Browser, ERP systems, and Access system.
