Conduct shift safety observations and inspections; provide on-the-spot corrections in the form of recommendations to Managers and Supervisors

Conduct conditional observations based on findings from previous observations and inspections

Serve as a 1stresponder in the event of an injury

Inspect fire extinguishers, eyewash stations, emergency lighting and any other safety equipment needing periodic inspections.

Act as a point of contact for safety questions on assigned shift

Monitor, administer and follow up training for assigned shift on

Forklift training

Maintenance specific training

New hire safety training

Annual refresher safety training

Any remedial training (forklift incident)

Monitor team member shift training and provide recommendations for improvement. Ensure documentation for training is completed and recorded in the Braselton Safety Performance Index book.

Attend 2 hours of safety training per week.

Assist Safety Manager with conducting Job Safety Analyses on their respective shift

Assist Safety Manager with Ergonomics/Repetitive Motion Studies on their respective shift

Assist with placement of safety signage

Assist Safety Manager with incident/injury investigations from their shift

Research and provide feedback for safety questions and concerns

Update the break room safety information board

Stock/restock first aid supply cabinets

Act as point of contact for the shift revolving safety team.

Support the Safety Manager in all duties as assigned including all operational areas of the Distribution Center

Manage administration of Federal Regulatory Programs (OSHA, EPA) on assigned shift as an extension of the Safety Manager

Experience and Skillsknowledge, skill and ability requirements minimum competencies required for job performance)

National Board of Emergency Responders certification preferred

Proficient written and verbal communication skills.

Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and through the use of email.

prior work experience and educational requirements

One to two years safety experience preferred - preferably in a distribution environment.

PHYSICAL and Work DEMANDS

Must be available to work in a multi-channel, multi-shift distribution environment, flexible to work different shifts and extended hours based upon business needs.

Must be able to stand and work for long periods including daily overtime, holidays and overtime as required.

Requires intermittent periods during which continuous physical exertion is required, such as walking, standing, stooping, climbing, lifting material or equipment, some of which may be heavy or awkward.

Must be able to repetitively lift cases weighing up to forty pounds.

Must be able to work in varying to extreme temperatures.

Holiday schedule to be decided by Management.

Must be available to work consecutive days in a row (for example 14+ days).

Comply with Blackout Periods (no vacation or personal time allowed) as determined by Management.
