Job Title: Materials ManagerDepartment: North CampusLocation: Carrollton GAReports To: Plant Manager, North CampusJob Summary/Objective:This individual is responsible for the entire scope of the materials department, which includes Planning, Materials, Purchasing, Receiving, Shipping, and organizing and facilitating the flow of product. The materials manager will direct and regulate the orderly flow of goods throughout the entire manufacturing cycle. This individual will also oversee personnel and functions to coordinate and expedite the flow of work and materials within or between departments according to daily and weekly production schedules; delivering finished goods inventories at/below target levels, supporting cost effectiveness objectives at the plant, and meeting other strategic objectives. Responsibility also includes communication between the plant, logistics, and sales/customer service.Essential Job Functions: Support and lead efforts in Safety objectives throughout the North Campus location. Liaison between Sales, Safety, Manufacturing and Engineering Determine plant capacity, raw materials lead time, and utilizing MRP system to schedule production. Use various systems such as SAP, Advaris, etc. Coordinate production schedules and accommodate priority requirements. Responsible for maintaining customer service levels at acceptable levels by scheduling production in an efficient manner. This includes identifying bottlenecks and analyzing loading vs capacity. Must understand manufacturing work flows in all areas of the plant. Responsible for reviewing WIP levels to keep obsolete inventory at a minimum. Must support the production departments and work closely with the supervisors in the plant. Confer with supervisors to identify priorities and making sure operations are meeting schedule. Coordinate the workflow for manufacturing operations from quoting items until the material has been completed and entered into finished goods ready to ship. Work with the vendors and strategic sourcing to ensure proper inventory is on hand to facilitate production. Ensure orders are cut and released timely to the Production floor to meet strict deadlines. Participate in daily production meetings; makes necessary adjustments to reflect changes in customer requirements, material receipt delays, and production capacity requirements. Responsible for Purchasing Raw materials, services and supplies for the Facility. While coordinating efforts between plants and suppliers to find the most cost effective and efficient way to do business Coordinate and manage all Receiving and Shipping activities for the North Campus location. Continuously manage, implement and report cost savings measures in Planning, Procurement, Receiving and Shipping departments.Required Education and Experience:1. Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain, Engineering or related field. 5+ years in production planning in a manufacturing environment or equivalent combination of education and experience.2. ERP System Proficiency - Knowledge of SAP/MES is preferred.3. Significant analytical capabilities.4. Proficiency with Excel. Strong knowledge of pivot tables and lookups.5.
