We are looking for an MES Manager with
strong Manufacturing Execution Systems experience in an SAP environment. The MES Software that is used is called Advaris which is an MES software specific to the cable and wire industry. This person does not have to have Advaris experience, but must have strong MES experience in an SAP data environment (meaning the MES system is saving data in SAP and pulling data from SAP). Functional experience with manufacturing execution, operations planning, detailed scheduling and planning in manufacturing shop floor required. Also, this person needs to wear many hats and should have basic knowledge of technical systems and software in a manufacturing plant (i.e. Windows Servers, Citrix, SQL Server, etc.). Someone who worked as a systems engineer or support engineer earlier in their career would be ideal. Full job description is below: SummaryThe MES Systems Manager will be responsible for working closely with business leaders to lead the MES team in the understanding of business priorities, requirements gathering, configuring and administration of Southwire’s MES, product labeling, and legacy application systems. This individual will also develop and direct a strong team and work effectively through them to accomplish the group’s objectives. Description of Duties and Responsibilities• Maintain a positive work environment to motivate and develop team members.• Prioritize and assign workload to team members.• Working individually and through direction of the team:• Gather, analyze, and evaluate ideas from the business to improve or develop new functionality in the Advaris MES system.• Manage both external partners and user requirements.• Document and maintain the business processes using industry best practices.• Coordinate and participate in system integration, performance and acceptance testing.• Work with the business to resolve defects, then define and communicate the proposed solution.• Manage the move of approved application changes thru the system landscape.• Provide day-to-day support and troubleshooting to the business community.• Ensure all project, change and issue management processes are followed.• Develop and manage projects of varying size and scope as required, within the designated timeline.• Other duties as assigned.Qualifications and Experience Requirements • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Business or related degree preferred.• Minimum of 3 years of recent experience implementing and supporting MES systems.• In-depth knowledge of manufacturing execution system concepts including production planning, bill of materials, routings, and quality testing.• Working knowledge of Wire and Cable manufacturing and planning processes is preferred• Experience with the setup and administration of Advaris MES and/or Loftware Spectrum is a plus.• Experience with Windows Servers, Citrix, and MSSQL database administration is preferred.• Excellent analytical and problem solving skills.• Process-oriented and independent thinker with initiative. • Demonstrate a commitment to customer satisfaction.• Creative and able to work independently with only general supervision. • Must possess excellent organizational and project management abilities, along with exceptional interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.• Must be able to effectively motivate and lead small groups.• Must be able to manage tasks and projects, successfully completing within specified timeframes• Must be willing to travel as needed.Vacancy expired!
