DescriptionJob Responsibilities:
Greeting customers as they enter the store
Assisting customer with purchases and pricing
Operating the cash register system and understanding basic math including, but not limited to, basic addition and subtraction of money
Selling merchandise to customers while providing excellent customer service
Understanding the tagged colors on priced merchandise and their functions
Multi-tasking at a rapid pace
Maintaining an organized appearance on the sales floor and dressing room areas
Organizing shelves, putting away carts, maintaining stock, returning merchandise from the dressing room back to the sales floor
Thanking customers for supporting Goodwill’s mission
Asking customers to “Round-Up” totals in support of our mission and scholarship programs
Meeting or exceeding daily retail store goals
Working in other areas of the store as requested by the Store Manager. A part-time position averages 20-25 hours per week. Hours will fluctuate based on, but not limited to, business needs, i.e., seasonal changes, donation changes, etc. Operating days will fluctuate based on store location. The Retail Associate – Cashier must be available to work all shifts and Monday through Sunday. Exceptions may be discussed during the interview process.
Requirements:
Proficient mathematical skills
Proficient Customer Service skills
Preferred Skills:
High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED). Prior experience in a retail environment may be considered in lieu of education
Prior experience working in a retail or customer service related environment, preferred
Cashier experience
Warehouse experience
Physical Requirements:
Ability to lift up to 40lbs,
Standing for extended periods of time
