Maintains engagement with personnel at all levels of the organization.EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION1. Bachelor’s degree in engineering or science discipline with 8-10 years or more related experience.2. An advanced degree, such an MS or an MBA is preferred. Proven track record of significant process improvements for medical device manufacturing.The Principal Process Excellence Engineer is responsible for implementing key business improvement initiatives for manufacturing lines within a larger site. He/She defines opportunities, analyzes data, designs manufacturing line flows, leads and improves business processes. Leads multifunction, cross departmental high level complex projects and initiatives. Improvement initiatives are led by influencing cross-functional teams that deliver tangible business results through the application of Lean and Six Sigma principles, methodologies and tools. Utilizing business, leadership and technical skills, the Principal Process Excellence Engineer will both execute projects and mentor groups (associate to management) at the site, developing a continuous improvement culture. Researches optimum routing, cost, quality, and morale through service in routine activities and the development, recommendation, and implementation of projects. Applies new manufacturing equipment and/or design improvements to existing equipment and employs automation where feasible and practical.DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIESUnder general direction and in accordance with all applicable federal, state and local laws/regulations and Corporate, procedures and guidelines, this position:1. Manages and execute projects and/ or program of high level complexity ensuring safety, regulatory compliance, company standard, operation requirements and business needs. Works independently and coordinates and leads initiatives with other departments within the company and with other divisions outside the site.2. Responsible for developing a strategy and executing a plan to deliver process performance improvements related to Quality, Delivery, and Cost of a manufacturing line or business unit within a plant, utilizing systematic approach for project execution. Prepare management reports and presentations.3. Develops strategy and execution plan to improve flow of products from suppliers to distribution centers for a value stream.4. Leverages process knowledge to identify opportunities/ solutions to improve throughput capacity by reducing impact of constraints and identify innovative ways to generate process efficiency. Is recognized as the source of guidance in a filed.5. Is responsible for driving associates’ engagement and for developing Lean, Six Sigma capabilities through coaching and mentoring at various levels (associate to professionals) within the site and support other continuous improvements methodologies.6. Lead activities related to business plan process requirements, such as headcount and capacity analysis, standard cost revision, investment plans and other budget related tasks.7. Facilities PEx trainings, certifications, business case definitions; as required.8. Can manage/own several plant wide initiatives.9. Follows and observes all regulatory requirements (GMP’s, ISO, FDA, internal policies) applicable to area of responsibility.10. Responsible for communicating business related issues or opportunities to next management level11. For those who supervise or manage a staff, responsible for ensuring that subordinates follow all Company guidelines related to Health, Safety and Environmental practices and that all resources needed to do so are available and in good condition, if applicable12.
