Position DescriptionOCCUPATIONAL SUMMARYResponsible for providing professional nursing care to patients in support of, and as directed by, the physician. Responsible for performing assigned back office duties. Responsible for performing all duties in accordance with Practice policies and procedures.PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESAssists physicians with examinations, procedures and other activities related to direct patient care.Escort patients from waiting area and prepare them for examination. Documents patient's vital statistics and other encounter data into patient chart and ensures that all required records are in the chart. Obtains brief medical history and symptoms from patients.Document all information in the medical record in the approved format.Position RequirementsKNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES/LICENSE OR CERTIFICATION REQUIREDGraduation from an approved school of practical nursing.KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES/LICENSE OR CERTIFICATION PREFERREDPrevious experience in specialty area.License/Certification Requirements: YesWork Hours: 7a-7:30pWeekend Requirements: YesOn-Call Requirements: NoNorthside Hospital is an Equal Opportunity employer.
