JOB SUMMARY:Under broad supervision, receives, stores and issues property and supplies. Manages property and inventory control and prepares related reports.

JOB SPECIFIC DUTIES: Under general supervision, manages the daily operations of automotive shop warehouse involved in the procurement, storage, issuing and inventory of automotive parts and supplies. Procures all inventory items, materials, supplies and equipment by authorizing purchases except those needing higher administrative approval. Maintains a computerized inventory of all products ordered, received, stored and issued by the warehouse, updating the database daily. Maintains the warehouse facilities for the receipt, storage and distribution of automotive parts and supplies. Completes and reviews all required forms, reports and records. Administers warehouse personnel through performance management, by recommending appropriate promotions or disciplinary actions, and by providing assistance with benefit questions and concerns.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

The selected candidate must meet the advertised minimum qualifications to include State Entry Qualifications as well as Agency Specific Minimum Qualifications.

STATE ENTRY QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university

OR Associate's degree from an accredited college or university AND One year of experience in materials management

OR Three years of experience in materials management

OR One year of experience at the lower level Purchasing Asst 2 (FET041) or position equivalent.

AGENCY MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

One year of experience managing warehouse operations (i.e. tracking inventory, receiving and filling automotive parts requests).

Basic knowledge of the mechanical components of equipment.

Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of warehouse operations to include bidding and purchasing procedures.

Basic math skills used in space allocation, calculating appropriate quantities, discounts, materials inventory and completing reports

Ability to use inventory software

Ability to read and comprehend information obtained in parts manuals, reports, contracts and other documents.

Ability to plan, distribute and monitor work assignments, evaluate work performance and provide feedback to others on their performance.

Ability to provide leadership and training to employees in the daily operations of the warehouse and work assignments.

Ability to express ideas, facts, and messages through oral and written communications including correspondence and instructions to department personnel and external customers.

Ability to analyze facts and other information quickly, accurately and in the proper context.

Imagination to develop new insights into problem situations, applying innovative solutions and negotiation skills for best results.

Displays a high level of commitment toward work, a high standard of ethical conduct and adapting to changes in priorities, procedures, and process.

Maintains positive view of self, displays a professional image, and self-motivating.
