Juvenile Detention Director 3 - Metro Rydc

/AN EQUAL OPPORTUNITY EMPLOYER/Oversees the operation and administration of a youth detention facility or unit. Develops and implements appropriate security and facility policies and procedures. Provides leadership to subordinate managers as well as other institutional staff. Directs and personally monitors youth security functions and activities to maintain the custody and security of youths. Identifies training needs and provides guidance and training to correctional staff. Manages human resources and directs administrative activities for corrections staff. Manages the operations and activities of the youth detention facility. Monitors budget activities of youth detention facility. Monitors, inspects, and evaluates operations, programs, services, activities, and conditions. Oversees and/or conducts inspections, searches, investigations, and evaluations. Performs crisis response, containment, and intervention in emergencies. Plans, implements, directs, and coordinates various correctional programs and activities.NOTE: This position is subjected to a background check which may include, criminal and employment history, fingerprinting, references, and social media.Bachelor's degree in a related field from an accredited college or university AND Six years of directly related experience in a criminal justice or correctional system, Two years of which with management experience OR Six years of supervisory custodial experience in a criminal justice or correctional system, Two years of which at a level equivalent to a manager in a law enforcement setting OR Six years of directly related experience in a criminal justice or correctional system, Eighteen months of which experience is required at the lower level Sr Mgr, Correctional Administration (PSM082) or position equivalent.
