Responsibilities

We are looking for a rock star UX Generalist to join a talented team within our Digital Experience area.

As a UX Generalist, you will have a solid understanding of UX/UI and design principles and a strategic mind to apply them in creating clean, simple, intuitive and branded experiences.

Our team collaborates with business partners and other UX teams to create innovative experiences for agents, contact centers, claims and underwriting associates as well as State Farm customers.

As a UX Generalist, you will:
  • Have a passion for understanding user pain points and can provide UX/UI enhancements to address identified problems.
  • Translate business requirements into meaningful, interactive UX design prototypes, and develop artifacts to document interaction and visual design patterns, in compliance with UX direction and standards.
  • Design, communicate and maintain all UX/UI enhancements in accordance with established digital UX design paradigms and aspirational experience strategies and architecture, and executes/documents work in compliance with digital UX design standards, patterns and templates.
  • Support UX leadership with coordination of User-Centered Design, Design Thinking and Service Design workshops
  • Assist with identification of impacted personas and mapping service ecosystems and customer journeys

Incumbency: This position will have a 12-month incumbency period, beginning on the effective date of the position, which must be met before the employee can post for any other lateral State Farm position. Employees may be considered for leadership or Technology Engineer openings at any time, and a promotional position within the same job structure (i.e. Professional/Technical or Para-professional/Support) after 6 months from the effective date of the position. In these cases, the remaining incumbency would be waived. The incumbency period does not affect the at-will relationship between State Farm and the employee and does not create an employment contract, nor contractual rights.

Qualifications

Key qualifications:
  • 7+ years of experience as UX designer or similar role
  • Proven ability to lead creative work and partner with business areas to build outstanding user experiences
  • Past experience taking input from multi-disciplinary teams and creating meaningful, interactive design prototypes and artifacts
  • Skilled at working with peers and other UX practitioners to manage the design workflow and scope via iterative, rapid cycles of UX

Preferred skills/experience:
  • Sketch, Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign, InVision, Figma
  • Exposure to iOS and Android
