Responsibilities

A Day in the Life of an Econometrician

State Farm is seeking a bright, diligent Econometrician to join our Financial Operations department.

WE NEED YOU!

As a member of a small, self-guided team you will serve as the Enterprise resource for economic analysis and forecasting. You will think creatively to use your knowledge and skills to address a diverse range of real-world business issues and educate clients on the impact of the economy on their business area. This position gives you the opportunity to think strategically as well as the chance to work with an established team that is willing to help you learn. You will work across other teams across the organization. You will have the opportunity to work on new and existing technologies all while having the satisfaction of knowing that your analysis and insights are used to influence decision making at the highest levels of the organization.

Qualifications

We Are Looking for Candidates With
  • Insurance experience preferred
  • Knowledge in econometric modeling and theory
  • Good communication skills- verbal and written
  • Experience in at least one major statistical package
  • Masters/PHD in in Business Analytics, Mathematics, Economics, MIS, Statistics, Actuarial Science, Finance or a related field

    or 5+ years experience

Additional desired skills
  • Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manipulate and analyze large data sets.
  • Programming skills in business analytics software (SAS, R, Python)
  • Experience with AWS environment and willingness to learn more.
  • Strong teamwork skills.
  • Shows initiative and willingness to learn and share knowledge.
  • Passion for serving the customer.
