Responsibilities

About the Role:

Internal Audit (IA) is looking for results driven individual contributors who will excel in a high initiative and high influence environment! The role offers the opportunity to work across a broad portfolio of technologies - emerging/open source, market leading, established, and legacy across the full-stack. Additionally, the role offers exposure to internal business partners through the executive leadership level. The ability to understand how technology and business processes work together to support State Farm's strategy is required to be successful. The right candidate must have strong communication skills and the ability to thrive in a team setting.

Day in the Life
  • The Technology Auditor will join a talented agile team of peers responsible for testing risks and controls related to infrastructure, cloud, IT governance, and data management within State Farm.
  • The Technology Auditor applies full-stack technology acumen to test the security, privacy, and efficiency of technologies implemented across the enterprise.
  • The Technology auditor is expected to maintain a level of expertise in various technologies and business topics through continuing education and IT certifications.
  • A successful Technology auditor is viewed as a trusted advisor by direct business partners and effectively demonstrates strong critical thinking and business judgement through their verbal and written communication and documentation.

Qualifications

Required Professional Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Sciences, Engineering, Business, or related field (an equivalent combination of related education, training, and experience may be considered)
  • Demonstrated commitment to learning new technology/processes
  • Understanding of risk, information security, and business acumen
  • Prior internal audit or similar experience focusing on technical or information security risks to any degree
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Current on business applications, trends in IT, and experience evaluating/implementing new innovative IT solutions
Preferred Qualifications
  • Ability to examine IT controls, evaluate the design and operational effectiveness, and determine exposure to risk
  • Experience with network & infrastructure architecture, information systems, cyber security, SDLC, application security, penetration testing, and data management
  • Ability to read, write and review code (Python, Java, JavaScript, JSON, SQL. etc.) is a plus.
  • Ability to understand and communicate highly technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences
  • Professional certifications or working towards certification such as CISA, CRISC, CIA, AWS, or Salesforce
