Responsibilities

This position is for an Infrastructure Analyst on Enterprise Video Platform Product team

. This product team is responsible for building and maintaining the internal video capabilities that are currently on IaaS and Azure, as well as an active proof of concept on AWS.

The work environment is very collaborative, fast paced, and utilizes agile methodologies. Technical skills and abilities will be challenged every day, and the expectation is adequate time is invested into learning and developing new skills on a continual basis as the job demands.

We have a

combination of software developers and infrastructure analysts on the team currently, and need someone with Infrastructure as Code, AWS and Linux knowledge and/or experience. This is core to current and future state designs and key skills needed to understand, monitor, and debug our platforms. We will be moving from IaaS to Microsoft and potentially AWS Cloud using their video services.

Qualifications

Primary (required) skills:
  • AWS Cloud Solutions Experience
  • Terraform
  • Experience and/or knowledge of Linux.
  • Learning agility and willingness to study and adopt new technologies.

Additional (secondary) skills / Experience:
  • Vault Knowledge
  • IaaS-Puppet
  • Python
  • Efficiency through automation (manage configuration, maintenance, performance monitoring).
  • Applies software development skills, tools, and processes to implement automation solutions where appropriate.
  • Diagnoses and resolves complex problems/issues and completes complex assignments.
  • Applies breadth and depth of knowledge to complete troubleshooting. Identifies opportunities for incremental evolution of the Infrastructure to support transforming business and technological needs.
  • Understanding of Agileframework and methodology.

Incumbency: This position will have a 24-month incumbency period, beginning on the effective date of the position, which must be met before the employee can post for any other lateral State Farm position. Employees may be considered for leadership or Technology Engineer openings at any time, and a promotional position within the same job structure (i.e. Professional/Technical or Paraprofessional/Support) after 6 months from the effective date of the position. In these cases, the remaining incumbency would be waived. The incumbency period does not affect the at-will relationship between State Farm and the employee and does not create an employment contract, nor contractual rights.
