Please contact Human Resources at 770-533-6903 or cantrell@laniertech.edu if any assistance/accommodation is needed in the application/interview process.POSITION: ASSOCIATE OF SCIENCE IN NURSING (ASN) ADJUNCT CLINICAL INSTRUCTOR – Forsyth Campus; Cumming, GAREPORTS TO: Associate of Science in Nursing Program DirectorJOB SUMMARY:This position will supervise Associate of Science in Nursing degreestudents in a clinical environment, in one of the following patient careenvironments: Medical–Surgical, Pediatrics, Gerontology, Critical/Acute Care,Mental Health or long-term care setting; may be inpatient or outpatient. Will ensure that students adhere to facility-specific guidelinesand policies, as well as the GA Board of Nursing and Lanier Technical Collegestudent policies. Will direct student learning andassess student progress towards achieving the objectives and requirements ofthe ASN program, in the appropriate learning domains. Almost all ASN classesinclude a clinical component, and may be comprised of online, laboratory,classroom, or clinical instructional responsibilities in a clinical orsimulation setting, depending on the particular course requirements.RESPONSIBILITIES:

Ensuresthat students meet the clinical objectives of each course, to include regularreview of student performance with each student

Providesproper student counseling when needed

Reportsto and provides a periodic performance appraisal of students to the coursecoordinator, and/or the academic clinical coordinator or program director

Becomesfamiliar with program outcomes and understands course materials

Offersa positive, professional attitude towards students, colleagues, and teaching

Attendsperiodic meetings at LTC Forsyth campus as necessary for program planning

Teachesin course(s) agreed upon by the program director

Keepsaccurate student records and submits related grades, reports and forms withinrequested timelines

Participatesin the annual review, evaluation and recommendation of student textbooks andlearning materials

Stayscurrent regarding developments in the nursing discipline

May performother work-related duties as assigned by the course coordinator and/or the program director. May teach one to two days of clinical instruction weeklyin spring, summer and/or fall semesters. Semester clinical rotations typicallylast 10 weeks in the spring and fall, and 8 weeks in the summer semester.Clinical groups will be assigned to area health care system facilities, and/oroutpatient healthcare facilities in north Fulton, Forsyth, or Hall countyareas, depending on the particular course being taught. Hours are variable;however the clinical day usually begins at 0630, and is customarily an 8 or 10hour day, depending on the need and the clinical unit.MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:Bachelor's degree in Nursing from a regionally accredited college or university;Active, unencumbered/unrestricted GA RN license;Two (2) years patient care experience as a RN within the past 7 years;Current AHA BLS for Healthcare Providers certification.TECHNICALCOMPETENCIES :

Ability to handle administrative responsibilities related to clinical site management, student advisement, and accreditation

Ability to work cooperatively with others in a fair and unbiased manner, and to maintain a pleasant, professional relationship with students and faculty/staff

Skill in the operation of work-related computers

Appropriate oral and written communication skills that effectively communicate information to students who might function at the new, beginning, or advanced level

Effective human relations, verbal, and written communication skills

Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel and PowerPoint

Effective decision making and problem solving skills
