Position Description
Operates mammography equipment to produce radiographs of adolescent, adult and geriatric patients. This position is characterized by the ability to perform all types of mammography studies to include needle localization and ductograms. Works in areas requiring autonomy and indirect supervision.
Responsibilities:- Performs all types of mammography to include needle localization and ductograms. May assist physician with biopsy and aspiration procedures, practicing sterile technique as required. Sets up sterile trays with all supplies and instruments required for procedures.
- Understands and performs within the guidelines of all pertinent regulatory agencies (ACR/FDA).
- Evaluates films for abnormalities and identifies areas requiring additional imaging in conjunction with the Radiologist.
- Reviews breast self-examination information with patients/clients.
Position RequirementsRequired Qualifications:
- Graduate from an accredited program in Radiologic Technology.
- Registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
- Certified in Mammography (or will be within 1 year of hire) meeting requirements to perform mammography as defined in the ACR/FDA/MQSA standards.
- Prior experience in mammography.
- Certified in cardio‑pulmonary resuscitation (CPR).
