Position Description

Director of Engineering Solutions is responsible for leading the Automation Division in material handling engineering solutions organization for warehouse automation and e-fulfillment services. This client-facing role will design innovative solutions for the technical development of systems, processes, and infrastructure that optimize material handling automation for our ever-expanding customer base. This role is a key member of the management team and is pivotal to the future success and growth. The successful Director of Engineering Solutions will be a technically savvy, customer-centric self-starter with extensive consulting and solution development experience in the material handling industry. The director must be committed to meeting customer needs and exceeding expectations.

Responsibilities:

Lead multiple automation and material handling projects with limited oversight and direction and provide guidance and training to junior members of the team.

Utilize a creative, innovative, and strategic mindset to develop products and solutions for warehouse automation, e-fulfillment, and distribution services, and recommend technological developments to drive change with efficiency improvements.

Evaluate and integrate the automation technologies, best practices, and benchmarking data, and leverage these to develop improvements and business opportunities. This includes increased profitability by cutting costs, creating efficiencies, and expanding the company's business opportunities through collaboration with Sales.

Serve as SME for all engineering-related and technical issues for the division and collaborate with Sales to educate customers on our technologies, products, and system integrations, and provide technical expertise for requests for proposal.

Requirements:

Must have well-developed leadership, management, and interpersonal skills, be an engineering/technology solutions designer and innovator, and possess strong business acumen.

B.S. (M.S. Preferred) in Industrial/Manufacturing Engineering or related field with extensive knowledge of material handling industry trends, technology, best practices, and change management.

Management experience in an organization with progressively increasing responsibilities at a growth-driven, consumer-oriented company with relevant experience building and scaling teams to meet business demands.

7-10 years' engineering solutions development experience working with operational teams to create strategies for material handling efficiencies within a warehouse, manufacturing, supply chain, and/or construction environment.

An equivalent combination of education and experience would also be acceptable.

Travel up to 50%.
