Merchandising Manager

POSITION PURPOSE: Responsible for co-developing merchandising strategy for the Customer. As new product categories are developed and existing product categories revitalized, proper and seamless execution plans are developed to achieve defined objectives. This position requires problem solving, communication, and organizational skills as well as physical capabilities. Experience Proven track record in merchandising with 3 to 5 years of experience; home center preferred Proven skill in creating plan-o-grams and executing merchandising tasks Skills Drive, determination, and discipline of a self-starter Excellent oral and written communication skills Energy and focus to be goals and results oriented Excellent organization skills Knowledge of Microsoft windows-based applications Education Undergraduate degree; experience will be considered in lieu of a degree ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Create and submit plan-o-grams for national and regional product assortment changes Execute reset merchandising plans and follow up with customer reset teams and field sales teams on execution Facilitate merchandising service for all categories as requested by customer Log product maintenance changes that arise from merchant and/or in-store requests Perform resets, plan-o-gram sets in both stores and company locations Coordinate and execute new merchandising sets at customer designated locations Lead reset capital projects and in store service requests as defined by manager Resolve all issues communicated by customer in a courteous and timely manner Develop and maintain relationships with customer merchant planners and corporate clients Place orders for fixtures and/or P.O.P. as needed Maintain national store footprint library Manage national plan-o-gram library for all customer categories Maintain proficient knowledge of plan-o-gram software Align with American Woodmark policies and procedures in performing responsibilities of job Be a model of the American Woodmark culture SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: Typically, this position does not have supervisory responsibilities. SCOPE & EXPECATIONS: Reports to: Manager, Merchandising & Service Travel Requirements: Some in and out of town travel is required up to 20%. Travel is typically by company car and commercial air carrier. Typically, offices out of sales office located near account. Recruitment process may consist of any combination of phone, video and in person interviews. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to sit.
