Description:We are in search of an Engineering Technician. This role will assist with sample collection of diverse materials including; soil, sediment, water, and air for environmental tests; compile construction quality assurance (CQA) monitoring data related to landfill & environmental remediation construction projects, provide neat, accurate, and comprehensive documentation of all field-related activities; and provide additional field and office support to geologists and engineers for a diverse private practice and public sector client base.Fieldwork such as soil, water, & groundwater sampling, drilling & contractor oversite, aquifer testing, geophysical investigations & remediation system O&M;Monitor activities on job sites to assure compliance w relevant contract documents (technical specifications, construction drawings, sampling plans, CQA plans etc.)Prepare daily & weekly field reports, construction schedules & progress reportsSkills & Qualifications:Oversee contractor activities and performance on a wide variety of project including remediation projects, landfill construction, and industrial process projects;Perform field and on-site laboratory tests on soil, geosynthetics, aggregates, and other materials primarily associated with landfill and/or waste containment system construction;Monitor activities on job sites to assure compliance with relevant contract documents (e.g. technical specifications, construction drawings, sampling plans, CQA plans etc.);Provide CQA monitoring on several types of construction and/or environmental activities on enviro-civil construction sites;Perform multi-media sampling in support of investigations, monitoring programs, and other data collection centric projects;Prepare daily and weekly field reports, construction schedules & progress reports;Assure project documentation is correct and consistent with company policy & procedures;Interact with project personnel (contractors, project managers, engineers & clients) and assist in cultivating an integrated team approach through open lines of communications and participation in work progress meetings;Assist in the preparation of the final reports, work plans, health and safety documents, and the assembly of report appendices;Observe and abide by the policies and procedures outlined in the site-specific project health and safety plans and the company’s Environmental Health and Safety Management policies and procedures; andPerform tasks in other company practice areas including general construction services, environmental sampling, contractor oversight, or construction quality assurance activities, as needed.Here are some other things you should know about this position:Training: This position requires OSHA health and safety, first aid, and CPR training and medical monitoring, paid for by the firm.
