reliable and safe operation of cranes.
You will operate cranes daily for moving loads to specified
locations.
You will execute precise lifting and handling in areas with
restricted access and maneuverability.
You will operate traveling cranes equipped with booms.
You will operate boom cranes at outdoor locations where
maneuverability is restricted and accuracy is critical.
You will practice safe crane work operations to make work area
safe.

Within the Department of Defense (DoD), the appointment of
retired military members within 180 days immediately following

This is a bargaining unit position.
You will be required to obtain and maintain a current IT-II
Level designation certification.
You will be required to successfully complete a pre-appointment
physical examination.
You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or
final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to
obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result
in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including
marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be
rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or
pass the test. You will be subject to random testing.
Within the Department of Defense (DoD), the appointment of

This position may require travel from normal duty station to
CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You
must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for
extended periods of time.

as helmets, gloves, coveralls, glasses, goggles, respirators and
safety shoes continuously for the duration of the work shift.

than normal supervision such as: skills and knowledge of crane
operations and crane team operations that allows for the operations
of various cranes t move, and position extremely large and heavy
items; Ability to utilize complex multi-point suspension techniques
to maneuver over, under, and around obstacles by tilting, dipping,
and turning the suspended load; Ability to recognize, and eliminate
or control, safety hazards arising during item movements; Ability to
operate various types of cranes supporting heavy lifting operations
for long periods of time; Responsible for the safe operation of the
assigned portal, mobile, floating, or overhead traveling crane;
Ability to make proper gear selection, conduct prior to use
inspections, and attach weight-handling gear to support the
movements of items by crane or other mobile material handling
equipment; Assists the crane operator in performing the pre-use
check of the crane, safe rigging of the load, provides hand or radio
communications to crane operators for the safe and effective
movement of items to and from submarines, shops and other areas to
include positioning of items in exacting locations onboard
submarines. I am considered an expert and work with a high degree of
independence.WG-09: Ability to do the work of a Crane Operator without more

difficult and complex tasks including supporting rigging operations,
assists the crane operator in performing the pre-use check of crane,
safe rigging of the load, provides hand or radio communications of
crane operators for the safe and effective movement of items to and
from submarines, shops and other areas to include positioning of
items in exacting locations onboard submarines; Ability to make
proper gear selection, conduct prior to use inspections, and attach
weight-handling gear to support the movements of items by crane or

process and maintains communications with Rigger in Charge or
designated Rigger throughout the lift operation with the ability to
refuse to operate when there are concerns about the safety of
operation; Ability to operate portal and bridge cranes supporting
