Candidate will be leading a team of Server Architects and Engineers who specialize in the Operating Systems as a Tier 2/3 escalation team for per App/Service System Administrators, and will have a mission to create/maintain/retire monthly base OS images that get deployed across 76k systems today, and scaling up to 100k+ as we move more into public Cloud.Candidate will be adept at showing the team how to both patch in-place as well as “re-hydrate” replacement systems instead of patching. While not directly responsible for the Systems Configuration management framework (likely Tanium), candidate will be paramount to ensuring the system standards can meet all needs. Should be adept at helping highly technical managers and team members understand what is/isn’t possible to create an automated factory to this across multiple operating systems.
Technologies:Windows Servers, Linux Servers, and IBM AIX servers primarily, with some Solaris in there – but not monthly and probably not automated. They should realize we have multiple standard “agents” that must be regularly tested and verified for each new image.Should understand AD/GPO development at scale with an eye towards resiliency in multiple data centers or even multiple “A/B” segmentation to deploy to.Vacancy expired!
