Description: System safety engineer for the Air Mobility and Maritime Missions (AMMM) Program; works at Integrated Product Team (IPT) levels. Performs specialized and comprehensive system safety analyses to identify potential hazards to equipment and personnel and performs both qualitative and quantitative hazard risk assessments. Applies civil and military regulations, specifications and consensus industry design standards to establish the appropriate system safety design requirements. Formulates system safety inputs to system design requirements and specifications, Statements of Work, Statements of Objectives, and test planning documents. Conducts safety assessments to identify design changes to enhance product/system safety. Monitors the results of engineering development, ground and flight tests to verify adequate control of identified hazards in the system design. Participates in hardware/software design reviews, product safety boards, safety review boards, system safety groups and design trade studies.Must be a US Citizen or legally authorized to work in US as a permanent resident.
