5/7/2019Job DescriptionArconic is currently in search of aProduct Designer, to join our Kawneer business in Norcross, GA.Kawneer is the leading manufacturer of architectural aluminum products and systems for the commercial construction industry. Kawneer is part of Arconic’s global Building and Construction Systems (BCS) business unit, which manufactures and markets architectural systems and products in North America, Europe, Asia and the Middle East. The Category Specialist is responsible for assigned Categories within BCS and the management of critical supplier relationships in conjunction with the BCS Procurement Site Leads. The Category Specialist will also execute on relevant Procurement strategies, measures, and activities for their assigned site locations.Summary:The Product Designer is responsible for conceptual design and development of new fenestration products. This also includes redesign and enhancements to existing products.Key Responsibilities
Key member of new product development team
Develop conceptual designs, prototypes and final product
Develop Technical Brief
Create all aspects of internal engineering support documentation
Collaborate and develop content for use by Technical Literature Department
Create and generate engineering changes
Collaborate with outside suppliers and direct purchased parts
Participate and oversee test unit installation and product testing
Collaborate with product manufacturing and institute DFM principles
QualificationsBasic Qualifications:
Associate’s degree in Mechanical, Civil, Architectural or equivalent
Completed AutoCAD and completed Inventor Coursework
2 years of Product Design experience
Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree
Knowledge of 2D/3D modeling and PLM systems, AutoCAD, Inventor and Vault
Product design experience in the Fenestration Industry (windows, doors, curtain wall, storefront).
