This position is primarily responsible for operating a computer numerical control (CNC) lathe.
Functions:
o Read blueprints, specifications, and machining parameters.
o Sets-up lathes adjusting chucks, tools, collets, & stops.
o Loading material into feed mechanism or chuck by lifting stock into position.
o Verifies settings by measuring positions, first-run part, and sample work pieces.
o Maintains safe operations by adhering to safety procedures and regulations.
o Maintains equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements; following manufacturer's instructions.
o Documents actions and keeps notes for repeat or future jobs.
Required Skills:
o Good attitude and willingness to work well with others.
o General math skills with the ability to understand measuring/measurement concepts and their applications.
o Familiarity with basic tools of measuring and when to use for inspection of parts.
o Ability to read and use micrometer and calipers.
o Standing for long periods of time and lifting up to 50lbs.
o Experience in an industrial and/or manufacturing type environment.
o Follow detailed verbal / written assembly instructions, processes, and procedures.
o Read and understand work orders and assembly instructions.
o Move, process, and organize materials and manufactured products.
o Perform quality control checks and verification of work order specifications.
o May provide hands on and verbal job function training to coworkers as needed.
o Report problems with quality, processes, equipment and materials to Supervisor.
o Maintains a clean and organized work area.
Education & Experience:
High School Diploma or GED.
CNC Machining Certification preferred.
Experience in G-Code and/or Conversational Programming preferred.
2 or more years operating and Set-Up experience on CNC equipment.
Experience with DMG Mori CNC machines is a plus.
Experience in CAD/CAM is a plus.
Work Hours 7 am - 4 pm
