Our client in the North Fulton area is actively looking for a Sr. DevOps Engineer for a Contract-to-Hire role! This person should have a "blended' background of Java/API/Microservices integration development, as well as a traditional DevOps Engineering background.

All applicants (per client) must be eligible to work for any employer in the United States without requiring sponsorship now or in the future.Candidates MUST currently live in the Atlanta area to be in consideration for this opportunity, and be able to commute to the north Fulton office as required (hybrid work environment.)Responsibilities of the Senior DevOps Engineer- Collaborate with software developers, database administrators, and network administrators to develop tools and scripts to improve efficiency, support system automation, deployment, and continuous integration, and provide best practices for the application development team
- Script deployment processes and creating releases and patches
- Test, build, design, deploy and maintain the CI/CD delivery process using tools like Jenkins, Maven, GitLab, etc
- Improve the Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment pipeline
- Implement and improve monitoring and alerting
- Deploy new modules and upgrades and complete fixes within the development environment
- Actively troubleshoot any issues that arise during testing and production, catching and solving issues before deployment
- Work with the developers to have a clear understanding of code changes to write scripts
- Troubleshoot application and developer environment issues in a Linux environment
- Design, develop, and implement automated testing systems and evaluate the output
- Experience with server and container configuration, SSL/TLS certificate, and Key management
- Update processes and design new processes as needed
- Establish DevOps Engineer team best practices
- Bachelor's degree in IT related field or equivalent work experience
- 5+ years of experience with coding and the software development lifecycle process - JAVA, Spring Boot and Apache preferred
- 3+ years of experience in managing Linux and Windows infrastructure as well as Docker and Kubernetes containers
- 4+ years of hands-on experience with at least one scripting language
- 3+ years of experience as a DevOps Engineer
- Experience in software development and infrastructure development is a plus
- Critical thinking and problem-solving skills
- Knowledge of scripting languages such as Java, JavaScript, Python, Groovy, Bash, NodeJS
- Experience with open-source technologies and cloud services
- Exceptional communication skills, both in the written and the verbal form are required due to the extensive collaborative role
- Experience with Linux, Jenkins, version control, GitLab, Groovy, JUnit, Ansible, Continuous Integration/Deployment tools, and Microsoft SQL Server
