Our hospital is conveniently located within driving distance of Jacksonville, FL, Savannah, GA, and other surrounding cities in the South Georgia and Northern Florida region. Saint Simons By-The-Sea's staff has extensive experience in the fields of addiction treatment, recovery, relapse prevention and mental health treatment.Saint Simons By-The-Sea Hospital is seeking a Mental Health Technician for the new Partial Program, who participates in the development and implementation of patients' treatment plan by providing care and close supervision of facility patients and documenting behavior, by developing positive relationships with patients and co-workers and following facility policies and procedures, by implementing treatment plans and providing crisis intervention as necessary.Other responsibilities, but not limited to, are: Act as a role model in using appropriate counseling skills by de-escalating aggression, using active listening skills, using appropriate tone and volume of voice, providing a high frequency and variety of positive reinforcements, maintaining appropriate boundaries, and promoting a positive peer culture. Escort patients to work, mealtime, outdoor/indoor recreation, smoke breaks (if applicable), and education activities and participates in their supervision and instruction as needed. Transports patients to and from medical appointments or other activities as directed. Maintain safety and security of the facility through close observation and monitoring of the patients, maintaining optimal physical proximity, remaining alert at all times, and using analytical forethought to anticipate potentially volatile or unsafe situations and proactively intervene. Assess and ensures the needs of the patients are being met in relation to clothing, linens, and personal hygiene supplies. Supervises personal hygiene tasks.
