Home to Nine (9) Operating Subsidiaries and Growing, we're here to help you Build Your Career, Impact Your Community and Join Our Colonial Family.The Mobile Diesel Mechanic, an integral member of the fleet maintenance team, is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing heavy duty trucks, trailers, and other company equipment at multiple sites. JOB EXPECTATIONS/DUTIES- Performs inspections and preventive maintenance on company assets with the goal of maximizing safety, productivity, and lifecycle.
- Completes preventative maintenance documentation and procures parts as needed.
- Performs final operational test on equipment to ensure quality repairs.
- Maintains written repair orders.
- Performs lot checks to verify equipment condition.
- Other duties as assigned.
- High School Diploma or GED is required.
- Inspector and Brake Inspector Training Certificates or related experience is required.
- Extensive knowledge of air brake system diagnostics, repair, and federal standards is required.
- Must possess a valid Class A CDL OR have the ability to obtain within 90 days of hire is required.
- Experience with medium/heavy duty truck repair in a shop or dealership setting OR manufacturer CBT training course certificates is required.
- Trade school or military training in diesel mechanics is preferred.
- Prior experience as a mobile mechanic is desired.
- Knowledge of preventative, predictive, routine, non-routine, and emergency maintenance for equipment primarily powered by diesel and gasoline engines and auxiliary equipment is preferred.
