Job Summary and Qualifications

In collaboration with the patient, the patient’s family, and other members of the health care team, the OR Support Technician is responsible for assisting the care team in providing quality, age specific, direct and indirect care to patients as delegated and supervised by the Registered Nurse or Physician in order to achieve the goals of the Surgical Services Department. You serve as a key position of the interdependent team, and hold responsibility for achieving positive patient and department outcomes.

What you will do in this role:

· In all procedure suites, you will assist the care team pre-operatively with positioning and prepping of patient

· You will assist the circulator in the preparation of the suite for procedure and you will assist the team with positioning devices (arm boards, knee holders, straps etc.)

· You will assists the team with obtaining additional supplies and equipment, which could be needed after the case has initiated

· You will assist our circulator with specimens, labs, blood gases, and obtaining blood products

· At the conclusion of each case you will assist with in procedures to transition to the next case

· You will be responsible for stocking and maintaining supplies in sub-sterile areas

· You will transport equipment as needed to any off-site areas

What qualifications you may need:

· High School Graduate/Equivalent is required

· 1+ year(s) of experience in a hospital or clinical environment is preferred

    · A current American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross Basic Life Support (BLS) Health Care Provider is required
