Sr. IT Applications Solution Architect in GAC Savannah
Unique Skills:Agile/Scrum experience preferred. Catia V5/CAA experience preferred. Oracle database experience preferred.Education and Experience RequirementsBachelor's Degree in IT, Computer Science, Engineering or relevant curriculum required or equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential functions of the job. 12 years of experience as an IT professional with broad experience across multiple IT disciplines.Position Purpose:Works in conjunction with IT and different functional areas of the business to research, architect, design, develop and deploy complex and/or enterprise applications. Champions innovative ideas and develops technical scope to optimize business operations and data management processes through automation. Takes responsibility for tasks related to the development and deployment of systems, methodologies, standards and processes that support the application development and support functions.Job DescriptionPrinciple Duties and Responsibilities:Essential Functions: Creates complex application architectures and designs and configures complex enterprise applications based on the business requirements. Makes IT solution decisions and recommendations that are recognized as authoritative and have an important impact on segments of the business. Demonstrates innovation, foresight and mature IT architectural judgment in anticipating and solving complex IT architectural problems. Develops, reviews and approves high-level view of current and proposed IT architectures. Maintains a current in-depth knowledge of at least one complex and/or enterprise information technologies and associated developments. Uses this knowledge to make recommendations to improve the quality, efficiency and effectiveness of IT solutions. Documents the desired future state of application architecture, and documents the gaps between current and future states. Defines transition plans to close the gaps. Independently conceives plans and conducts research in application technologies of considerable scope and complexity in support of business objectives. Is a recognized leader and an authority in the conception and design of application solutions. Is consulted extensively by IT and the business. Assures that solution designs meet requirements for scalability, performance and quality in accordance with negotiated service level agreements. Drives decisions related to architecture and design. Participates in the assessment and resolution of software defects discovered during the quality assurance process. Works with software designers, QA engineers, technical writers, configuration management and infrastructure, as needed, to ensure quality and the successful implementation of new applications or features.Perform other duties as assigned.Other Requirements: IT Infrastructure Library (ITIL) exposure is highly preferred. Specific and in-depth expertise in one or more complex enterprise applications (e.g. ERP, PLM). Solid understanding of system lifecycle methodologies. Experience working in teams. Proficiency with an Integrated Development Environment (IDE) desired. Proficiency with MS Office. A Masters degree may be used to offset one year of experience; PhD may offset two years of experience.
