Job Description
Savannah Apparatus is growing and we are looking for an experienced Electric Motor Winder. For over 50 years Savannah Apparatus has been servicing the Savannah, Georgia area. We offer competitive pay and benefit packages.
Requirements:
- Knowledge of electric AC/DC motors
- Troubleshooting ability
- Manual dexterity
- Mandatory 3+ years relevant experience
Responsibilities:
- Disassemble, strip and record winding data
- Rewind various kinds of motors including AC/DC, form wound coils, armatures and wound rotors
- Prepare and cut insulations
- Make random coils when required
- Insert copper coil in the stator with appropriate methods
- Make connections (brazing and soldering)
- Complete varnish, bake and dip processes
- Assemble, test and complete required paperwork/reports
- Perform surge test/hi-pot and megger
- Troubleshoot various electric motors to determine cause of failure
- Determine extent of repair required, report/record findings in line with customer requirements
- Perform on-site service and repair when necessary
- Physical ability to lift up to 50lbs standing, bending full body motion
- Keeping the winding department work load ahead of schedule
Job Type:
- Full-time 40 + Hours Monday through Friday
- Overtime is required when necessary
- On call rotation for emergency after hours.
- Pay is based upon experience
