Job DescriptionGTRI's Signal and Systems Exploitation Program Office housed in the Sensors and Electromagnetic Applications Laboratory (SEAL) is looking for an entry to mid-level researcher with interest and experience in radar, radar systems and the development of enhanced and new radar and RF sensing capabilities. The radar systems are related to a broad range of radar types to include airborne intercept, airborne ISR, ground-based air surveillance, surface-to-air missile, etc. The ideal candidate will display skills and an educational background in radar systems and in one or more of the following areas: signal processing, data processing, tracking algorithms, and related topics. The candidate is also expected to understand the key performance drivers and characteristics of the entire radar system. This position involves developing the design and assessing the characteristics and performance of a radar from limited and incomplete data as well as the development of RF sensing capabilities to characterize threat systems.The primary focus of this position is developing the design and assessing the characteristics and performance of a radar from limited and incomplete data. The secondary focus is development of RF sensing capabilities to characterize threat systems. The candidate should be comfortable dealing with incomplete data and uncertainty.The ideal candidate will have specific research interest and experience in the management, development, testing, field trials, and fielding of novel, complex RF systems. These should include radar systems, electronic warfare systems, and intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance (ISR) systems.Travel Requirements10% - 25% travelEducation & Length of ExperienceResearch Engineer/Scientist IA Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Physics, Mathematics, or related field.Research Engineer/Scientist IIA Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Physics, Mathematics, or related field and three (3) years of relevant full-time experience after completion of that degree,A Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Physics, Mathematics, or related field and five (5) years of relevant full-time experience after completion of a Bachelor's degree, orA Doctoral degree in Electrical Engineering, Physics, Mathematics, or related field.Required Minimum QualificationsCandidates currently enrolled in an accredited Bachelor's degree program relevant to this position will be considered.
