Job Description

This position leads a team of engineers in all aspects of regulatory RF / EMC compliance testing and reporting on client products. The individual must be a professionally-experienced engineer with a deep hands-on technical expertise in RF/Wireless testing.

Competently lead a team that performs regulatory RF testing of products to determine compliance with applicable domestic or international standard(s). Supply information for quotes such as length of project, site needed, rental equipment, samples, and standards that will be used.

The individual will lead the team to be successful in the following areas:

  • Adhere to established test plan. Core tests include, but are not limited to: radiated emissions, conducted emissions, electrostatic discharge, radiated immunity, conducted immunity.

  • Validate the project scope and sample applicability.

  • Set up and operate test equipment including, but not limited to, spectrum analyzer, oscilloscope, multi-meter, surge generator, power supply, signal generator, environmental chamber, electrostatic discharge simulator. Understand the operation and maintenance of test equipment.

  • Meet test objectives by determining RF / EMC test methods and selecting testing equipment.

  • Ensure customer test criteria is correctly interpreted and applied. Interpret and apply applicable test standards.

  • Provide on-going support to clients as needed. Represent the organization as a technical contact/technical lead on projects. Interact with senior leadership and clients on significant technical matters often requiring coordination between organizations.

  • Provide sales support such as attending client visits.

Qualifications

BS/BET in electrical engineering, electronics, electrical technology -or- equivalent education/technical training plus a minimum of 10 years of direct RF / EMC testing experience.

Must have expert knowledge of RF / EMC standards (e.g. ANSI C63.10; ANSI C63.26; EN 300 328; EN 301 893; IEC 61000-4-x; ANSI C63.4;).
