Logistics Coordinator

Job SummarySchedule shipments of all grades of peanuts to customers.Major Duties1.Coordinates with Shelled Goods Manager to schedule shipments.2. Coordinates blanching request with blanchers and shipment of peanuts to meet requirements for customer's needs.3.Coordinates rail shipments, which requires selecting a group of lots that meet customer specifications, with Shipping Foreman and notifying rail companies.4.Coordinates with Shipping Foreman on issues related to tempering and cold storage.5.Receives shipping orders from customers.6.Allocates lots in Open Inventory.7.Contacts customers when shipments are needed to ensure compliance with contract.8.Ensures compliance with customer requirements and specifications.9.Orders appropriate tests according to contracts.10.Maintains shipping schedule.11.Schedules trucks.12.Handles constant phone, e-mail and fax communications with customers, brokers, trucking dispatchers and blanchers.Minimum QualificationsKnowledge, Skills and Abilities?Strong communication and interpersonal skills?Strong computer skills ?Trouble shooting skills?Must have the ability to gain knowledge in all facets of the job?Must be able to be a team playerEducation and ExperienceHigh School graduate or equivalent, logistics experience a plus.Physical DemandsPerform computer work for long periods of time. No heavy lifting.Work Environment This work is performed in an office environment with some exposure to dust and noise.
