Central Supply / Staffing Coordinator Full Time ToccoaDescriptionJOB PURPOSE:Provides assignedpatients with routine daily nursing care and services in accordance with thepatient’s assessment and care plan, and as may be directed by your NurseSupervisor. Receives and verifies supplies incoming to center. Recordsinformation for recording. May be required to rotate stock to ensure timelyuse.KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:1.PerformaCNA duties, when needed due to staffing requirements.Assists patients in and out of bed and intowheelchair with the correct use of the transfer belt.2.Assistspatients in bathing: to include bed baths, tub baths, and showers3.Assistspatients in dressing or undressing.4.Takesvital signs of patient, e.g., temperature, blood pressure, and respiration andrecords information.5.Assistspatients to dining area for meals. May be required to assist in feeding ofpatients and documenting intake of nourishment.6.Stripsbedding and replaces with clean linens7.Assistsin personal grooming of patients, e.g., brushing hair, trimming fingernails andtoenails, and shaving.8.Turnspatient intermittently if patient is bedridden due to illness.9.Requiredto clean bedpans and empty catheter bags.10.Documentsand or reports information regarding the patients’ health, I&O, any changeof medical condition, and care given.11.Distributesfresh water to patients and picks up used water pitchers.12.Requiredto pass food trays to individual patients in accordance with diet cards ontray.13.Providesskin care, oral care and denture care14.Assistswith admissions, discharges, and transfers as requested.15.Understandsand utilizes care plans.16.Identifiesthe four basic food groups on a sample breakfast, lunch, and dinner meal.17.Providesassistance with meals as requested (tray, delivery, feeding etc.)18.Applies& releases restraints, and provide exercise.19.Providesexternal/indwelling catheter care.20.Offersfluids at appropriate times (including routine ice and water rounds)21.Providesfor bowel and bladder training/retraining.22.Providescolostomy care.23.Practicesproper body mechanics while moving/transferring patients.24.Providesrange of motion exercises for patients.25.Collectsstool and urine samples26.Recognizesand reports signs/ symptoms of abuse and/or change in condition27.Properlydocuments in accordance with established guidelines28.Receivesand gives reports on patient’s status or condition.29.Assistspatients to and from activities as requested.30.Providesroutine care for the bedfast patient (turning etc.)31.Procuresmedical and non-medical supplies and equipment approved by supervisor.Interview vendors’ representatives. Assist with supply inventory.32.Evaluatesproducts to determine possible review by Director of Health Services orspecific Nurse Supervisor33.Resolvesreceiving, vendor and price invoice discrepancies. Follow up on back orders.Maintain pertinent file of special items. Remain at repetitious tasks for longperiods of time while completing paperwork, etc. Recognize, respond to and/orreport resident emergency situations to Nurse Supervisor immediately.34.Develops,encourages and maintains good communications between and among departments,residents, staff, visitors, vendors, etc.35.Maintainsstrict confidentiality on all facility data. Communicate with and supportresidents, families, visitor, etc. Maintain privacy of records, conditions andother information relating to residents, employees and facility.36.Performsassigned tasks in accordance with policies and procedures, and as instructed bythe Nurse Supervisor. Comply with established universal precautions andisolation procedures.37.Typesdocuments, reports, letters, etc., at least 50 words per minute with highaccuracy. Operate copier, office machines, computers, etc., as directed.38.Preparesand mail statements in accordance with established billing procedures. Greetvisitor, guest, residents, sales people and others, and monitor or reportsuspicious persons or situations to the Nurse Supervisor.39.Assistsin reporting complaints and grievances from residents, families, visitors andemployees.
