Manpower Engineering is hiring an Electrical Engineering Superintendent for a long term (24 months) assignment in Georgia at a combined cycle power plant for capital project improvements. The Electrical Engineering Superintendent / Owner's Representative provides capital project management, scope development, budget tracking, equipment inspection and troubleshooting of a natural gas combined cycle power generation facility. Facility runs on 2 GE gas turbines, HRSG, and 1 Toshiba steam turbine. Candidate will use Engineering knowledge as well as technical and repair references to design, inspect, and specify repair of plant equipment.

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical is strongly preferred or 10-20+ years of power plant experience
  • Must be proficient with combined cycle plant operations and have expertise with all power plant auxiliaries
  • Must possess at least three years of supervisory experience and oversight of subcontractors
Responsibilities

  • Oversee the capital projects in a combined cycle power plant
  • Monitor and coordinate all preventative maintenance and facility upgrades
  • Communicate effectively with internal customers and senior management both verbally and in writing.
  • Communicate with leadership regarding energy needs, scheduled outages and incident resolution.
  • Make estimates of labor and/or materials for repair or new construction and routine operation.
  • Design, price, monitor inspect completed work on repair, plumbing, pipe fitting, generators, turbines, switch gears, and other electrical work.
  • Coordinate activities by scheduling work assignments, establishment of priorities, and direction of the work of subordinate employees.
  • Monitor daily logs to determine proper operation of equipment.
  • Plan and direct internal preventative and repair maintenance.
  • Plan and direct contractor preventative and repair maintenance
  • Maintain records, prepare reports, and compose correspondence relative to the work.
  • Monitors and evaluates program and organizational performance in order to assess efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Assist Physical Plant staff on emergency generator inspection, scheduling, testing and reporting
