American Carpet One Floor and Home, a well-established employee owned company consistently voted as one of the best places to work, is looking for individual with the ability to adopt into a successful organization and who has the experience and ability to handle the payroll for 100+ employees as well as the various duties relating to employee benefits and other HR related matters.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Processes semi-monthly salary payrolls and weekly hourly payrolls in compliance with federal and state laws.

Reviews and imports hours from time and attendance tracking system.

Assists with annual payroll audits for workers compensation insurance.

Processes adjustments and manual payroll checks.

Communicates with Ceridian for any payroll software changes, questions, and issues.

Primary contact for all payroll-related questions and issues.

Coordinates year-end W-2 reports.

Prepares payroll journal entries for input into accounting software.

Generate and distribute various payroll reports as needed.

Files confidential employee records.

Assists with creating, maintaining, and purging employee files.

Assists with inputting employee personnel information regarding vacation, sick, military, FMLA, TDI and other leave.

Assists with responding to employees’ inquiries and contacting employees regarding status of vacation, sick, military, FMLA, TDI and other leave.

Assists with compiling and preparing information for presentation at Company meetings.

Assists with preparation for and conducting Company-wide events such as flu shots, open enrollment for medical plans, open enrollment for 401(k) plan, and other events as may occur.

Assists with preparing and updating employee job descriptions, employee handbook, and other employee or Company materials as assigned.

Participates in company-wide recruiting efforts such as attending job fairs, and preparing flyers and other informational materials.

Qualifications:

Four‑year college graduate with BA in business preferred.

Hands on experience with Ceridian payroll and timekeeping software.

2 years processing personnel and payroll records for 100+ employee firms.

Strong verbal and written communication skills; able to articulate effectively with staff and management.

Organized multi-tasker with great attention to detail.

Proficient Microsoft Office skills to include Excel, Word, and Outlook.

Flexible, results-oriented, and able to meet deadlines.

Able to keep information confidential.
