Job Description

The Training & Safety Manager will have direct responsibility and accountability for OSHA compliance and the education of all employees in the safe and effective performance of all cleaning tasks.

Essential functions of the job include:

Training cleaners in the safe and efficient performance of their work.

Responsible for OSHA compliance, including drafting and updating health & safety, hazardous communication, blood borne pathogen, and respirator manuals and policies.

Accountable for janitor safety, chemical labeling, equipment inspection, and updating SDS books.

Counseling and disciplining cleaning technicians as required.

Assist with successful start-up of new accounts, and related training.

Training tasks would include classroom style training, one-on-one training, hands-on training with cleaning tools, supplies and equipment, and field training.

Perform safety inspections and audits of service locations, and corrective training.

Re-engineer existing jobs for quality, profitability and efficiency.

Areas of accountability will include:

Reduced number of workplace injuries.

Reduced cost of workplace injuries.

Reduced number of workers' compensation claims.

Reduced number of lost days of work due to workplace injuries.

Reduced workers' compensation insurance experience modifier.

Reduced number of customer service complaints.

Reduced expenses by labor control and budget analysis per facility.

Qualifications

High School Diploma or equivalent.

Minimum 10 years of applicable experience, including supervision and management experience.

Knowledge of OSHA regulations and janitorial operations preferred.

Valid driver's license with clean abstract.

Positive personal and professional references.

Hiring may be conditioned on criminal background check and drug screening.

Must be able to lift 25 pounds, push, pull, climb up and down stairs, ride in elevators, stand for long periods of time, and otherwise perform the physical work required for janitorial services.

Proficiency with a smart phone, including email, calendaring, and texting functions is required.

Proficiency speaking Ilocano or Tagalog is preferred.

This is an exempt position with competitive salary and benefits. A company vehicle or auto allowance is provided. Must be willing to work nights and weekends, be on-call for emergencies, and be able to work efficiently with minimal supervision.
