FIELD SERVICES SPECIALIST

Description:

Field Services Specialists are responsible for monitoring, documenting and reporting construction progress and site conditions for each project, observing that the work performed in accordance with construction documents, project requirements and manufacturer guidelines.

Field Services Specialists are a critical part of the Project Team and work frequently with other members of the Field Services Team, Project Management Team as well as the Design & Risk Management professionals.

Responsibilities:

Become aware of the necessary industry standards and guidelines to measure conformance as applicable for each project.

Become familiar with the construction drawings, specifications, submittals, manufacturers guidelines and other requirements as applicable for each project.

Evaluate and become familiar with the specific conditions of each jobsite, understanding how they may impact the project and scope of work.

Conduct regular observation of the contractor(s) work during the construction phase of the project ensuring contractor adherence to design documents, industry best practices and contractual obligations.

Document contractor progress and site conditions via written field reports. Monitor for any deviations and log deviations from the project documents as "open issues" to be resolved.

Evaluate and assess building conditions and ensure that design and construction documents are being accurately followed in the field.

Prepare forensic and field reports and property condition assessments.

Perform forensic investigations, destructive testing and condition assessments in accordance with established protocols.

Learn and use the necessary and appropriate documentation and communication tools for conducting investigations and inspections enabling the tracking of conformance.

Learn and use the necessary testing equipment ensuring accurate and measurable attributes of the project work and environmental conditions.

Work with the Project Manager and/or Project Director to establish regular checkpoints and share key findings to demonstrate contractor, project or building compliance.

Track all issues or concerns in a non-compliance log and maintain this log through the completion of the project, documenting the corrective actions and closure of non-compliance items once corrected.

Report any reoccurring issues or non-compliance with the Senior Field Services Staff, Project Manager, Project Director or Regional Manager as appropriate.

Assist with pre-bid job walks and pre-construction activities, and document any areas requiring attention.

Participate in all necessary project meetings as needed by the Project Manager, Project Director or Regional Manager.

Qualifications:

1. Degreed Candidates will have graduated from a 4-year college or university with a degree in construction management, architecture or engineering and have a minimum of 5 years of construction experience.

2. Non-degreed candidates must have a minimum of 9 years of construction experience.

3. Good knowledge of building envelope technology, roofing and waterproofing.

4. Good knowledge of building infrastructure such as piping systems and electrical systems,

5. Good knowledge of concrete foundations, structures and concrete repair.

6. Experience with and understanding of construction documents including plans, details, specifications, and manufacturer installation instruction.

7. Capable of preparing written reporting documentation.

8. Basic computer skills and comfortable working with and/or learning construction software.

9. Commitment to obtain industry related Credentials.

10. Ability to multitask and balance multiple projects simultaneously.
