῾Ōlelo Community Media (www.olelo.org), Oahu’s premiere provider of PEG Access resources and services, exists "to strengthen our island voices and advance community engagement through innovative media." ῾Ōlelo's programs and services are designed to empower and equip individuals, non-profit and community organizations to exercise free speech and engage in community media by sharing their unique stories through digital media. Likewise, ῾Ōlelo provides government with digital media training and a venue to enhance accessibility through coverage of hearings and meetings. ῾Ōlelo's success in community engagement is rooted in its core values: Teamwork, Integrity and Aloha.

῾Ōlelo seeks candidates to fill one full-time Media Systems Engineer position that is based out of our main office building in Mapunapuna and services all locations throughout Oahu. Media Systems Engineer works seamlessly across Technology Services Team to support the acquisition and distribution of content, optimizing digital resources and viewer experience. Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the primary list below and other inherent duties and responsibilities associated with such position

The successful candidates have:

- B.A., B.S. in Computer Science or Electronic (specifically broadcast or IP video systems), or equivalent work experience.

- A minimum of two years of related work experience plus four (4) years of increasing responsibilities in a complex and diverse broadcast media setting

- Ability to interact with internal and external peers and/or managers to exchange semi-complex information related to assigned activities and demonstrates proficiency in most and in-depth specialization in some, technical concepts and related processes.

- Demonstrated leadership ability and supervisory experience, including managing technical support staff. Demonstrated ability to lead staff towards a customer service focused relationship with technology users.

- Basic understanding of broadcast electronics, broadcast rules and regulations and in maintenance, usage, and design of technical broadcast equipment. Basic knowledge of hardware and software system configuration and familiarity with signal flow within a broadcast facility

- Sound business judgement to ensure fiscally responsible policies, procedures and decisions.

- Excellent and analytical skills. Ability to evaluate problems to determine the best approach to organization and user requirement, and work processes.

- Excellent written and verbal communications to prepare recommendations for management, staff and external audiences, and sills to effectively deliver presentations.

- Excellent organizational and project management skills and project management skills and experience to develop and plan multiple projects, priorities and assignments.

- Ability to visualize users’ needs and develop supportive concepts, strategies and services

- Demonstrated experience in motivating and developing staff and creating an effective team environment.

- Ability to perform multiple projects with urgent and competing demands, be thorough, organized, and attentive to detail, and effectively manager stress.

- Ability to work both independently and in partnership with other team members, both in the agency and in the community , working effectively with other to achieve common goals.

- Ability to understand and make a commitment to the unique vision, strategy, goals, and culture of ῾Ōlelo Community Media And link staff assignment to company needs/goals
